A small ceremony celebrating putting a new bench at the starting

point of the trail leading to Mt. Tzruya. The bench was built to the

memory of our friend Zvi Choresh, who was among the people

who had built the trail many years ago.

נחל דוד - עץ זקום בן כ-40 שנה, נשתל בשמורה לאחר שכל עצי הזקום
נכחדו מעין-גדי מזמן. כיום צומחים בשמורה כמה עצי זקום, והם משגשגים

ואף מפיצים זרעים, הנובטים בסביבה

Zakum tree (Balanites) in Nachal David. Zakum trees were

in the past a part of the natural plantation of Ein-Gedi, but

became extinct.  A few trees were brought In the 70's to

the nature reserve and the planting was very successful.
