New houses in the Kibbutz - בתי מגורים חדשים בקיבוץ

טקס חנוכת שכונת החוקרים בעין-גדי. בינתיים 4 דירות מרווחות האמורות להיות

ביתן של משפחות שיגיעו לאזורנו לעבוד במכון ים-המלח. 2 משפחות כבר הגיעו

והדירות הריקות ממתינות למשפחות הנוספות המגויסות להקמת המכון. עוד 4 דירות

אמורות להיבנות בשכונה במהלך שנת 2008, 2 מהן עבור חוקרים נוספים, ו-2 עבור

תושבים או חברי קיבוץ אחרים. המבצע - בסיוע טכני, תקציבי וניהולי של ההסתדרות

הציונית, חברת 'הארגז' והמועצה האזורית 'תמר'. צוות הנוי של הקיבוץ כבר צבע את

This picture, taken by Sarale Elbar, shows the initiation ceremony

of the new neighborhood in the Kibbutz. 4 appartments, with 4 more

to arrive in 2008, will be the homes of scientists who will establish the

new Dead-Sea research istitute. 3 months after the construction the site

is already green. The institute is a project planned and run by the Tamar

regional council. Budgets for the houses - with a lot of help of World

Zionist Organization.

Salt-Rock Sculpture - פיסול באבן-מלח

זבו לוויים הוא פסל ותיק. בחנוכה היתה לו הזדמנות לפסל משהו באמת גדול באבן

מלח. ההזדמנות - פסטיבל 'מלוח' שהתקיים באזור עין-בוקק ובו השתתפו מספר אמני

פיסול שניסו להתמודד, חלקם בפעם הראשונה, עם החומר המעניין הזה. צילם: עמוס גנור

Zabu Leviyim works with rocks many years. Most of his sculptures

are much smaller then this one, made in salt-rock, a material that calls

for special skills. The occasion - 'Maluach' festival in Channuka, held

in Ein-Bokek area, two days of creative activity done 'in situ' by a

number of artists, some of them having their first experience with this

After the night storm - בוקר אחרי סופה

רוח חורפית חזקה גרמה פה ושם נזקים בגן שלנו. ראשונים להיפגע - ענפי מכנף

וגזעי מורינגה. המורינגה מתפתחת מהר, אך גזעיה וענפיה הראשיים רכים מדי

בדרך כלל, והם מרבים להישבר ברוחות עזות. כך זה גם בטבע וגם בגן. בדרך

כלל המורינגה מפצה עצמה על הנזק בהצמחה מהירה של ענפים גדולים, ותוך שנה או

שנתיים היא חוזרת לגודלה הקודם

The Moringa trees in the Nature and in our garden have a very

fast growth. In a few years a new seedling will turn to be a big

tree. The truncs and main branches become too heavy, since the

wood is soft, and in storms they tend to break. Since the roots do

not get harmed - the Moringa starts right away to grow new branches

and in a year or two the tree regains its old size.
