שבוע סוכות. בכל הארץ יורד היורה, ורק בארץ עין-גדי יבש

ומחכה לגשם ראשון. ענני הגשם מכסים את השמים. אולי הם

יורידו ממשהו מעל הרי מואב... תמונה: יוני פתאל

Week of Sukkot. The first rain pours over Jerusalem,

Tel-Aviv and the Galilee, but in Ein-Gedi we have only

rain clouds, but not a drop of rain. Maybe these thick

cluds will give some rain over the Moav mountains, Jordan.

קבלת שבת מתקיימת מדי שבוע במועדון הקיבוץ. זו מסורת של כשלושים

שנה. קבלת השבת משלבת יסודות מסורתיים כמו הקידוש על היין והקריאה

בפרשת השבוע - עם יסודות חדשים כמו ברכות מקוריות על החלה ועל

הנרות או שירה עברית מודרנית. גם אורחים מהמלון, ובתוכם תיירים

לא-יהודיים מחו"ל מגיעים לפעמים לקחת חלק בקבלת השבת

 

Kabbalat Shabbat is a long-time tradition in Ein-Gedi.

Every Friday before dinner we meet to sing, bless over

the wine, the Halla and the candles, and read a part of

the Parasha from the Tora. Guests of the hotel, some of

them non-jewish, come to experience our tradition.
