The busy birds - הציפורים העסוקות

זאביק רוזנבוים, זכרונו לברכה, היה חבר קיבוץ וידיד קרוב. חלק מכשרונו האמנותי
הוקדש ליצירת פסלים מיניאטוריים בשעווה. שנים מפסלי הציפורים שלו הועתקו
לממדים גדולים לאחר מותו, והועמדו בגן המלון שלנו. בלילה הם מאד מיוחדים

Zeevik Rozenboim, a Kibbutz member and a close friend, who
passed away a few yearsago, was an artist. Part of his creative
energy was devoted to create miniature sculptures of animals.
After his death - two of these sculptures were copied to a bigger
size and they decorate our hotel's garden, facing the very special
lanscape of Ein-Gedi mountains. At night they seem to be very alive.

Moonlight hike - טיול ליל ירח

ממצוקי החוואר ומביטה לכיוון מזרח. האור הבוקע מבין קירות קניוני
החוואר הוא אור של אירוע בילוי של אחת מחברות ההיי-טק, המסיעות
את עובדיה ליום-כיף בים המלח, ומסיימת את תכנית היום במסיבה
בחווארי מצדה - מוסיקה, כיבוד, שרותים ועוד
One of our hotel guests has taken this special picture while
participating in our moonlight hike near Massada. The group
is looking towards east, where the Dead-Sea is, while the lights
between the Chavar canyons belong to a night-party that is
organized by one of the High-Tech companies - a very popular
treat these days...

Colvillea racemosa -קולוילאת האשכולות

פריחה מקסימה זו שייכת לעץ הקולווילאה, שמקורו במדגסקר, ושם הוא
בסכנת הכחדה. בעין גדי יש כמה פרטים של עץ זה, והם מיתמרים לגובה
כזה, שבדרך כלל אי אפשר להתרשם מפרחיהם הנהדרים מקרוב. אחד העצים
עשה עמנו חסד לאחרונה, והוריד ענף נמוך עם תפרחת
The Colvillea tree is from Madagascar - there, in this very
special island, it is almost extinct. The tree loves the hot
climate of Ein-Gedi. Usually we can't enjoy the close look
at the most beautiful flowers, since the tree grows very high
and the flowers bloom usually at the top. This week I
discovered a low blooming branch, broght the camera, and
here we are!

Yaeli's basketry exhibition - התערוכה של יעלי

בראש השנה נפתחה התערוכה של יעלי, הקולעת סלים בסנסיני התמר

ובחומרים נוספים. התקיים טקס חגיגי. חברים וקרובים הגיעו מרחוק לברך

ולהתרשם. התערוכה תהיה פתוחה עד אחרי סוכות

Yaeli's exhibition was opened in a nice ceremony on

Rosh Hashana. Yaeli makes baskets, using the dates'

spikelets, and some other materials. The exhibition

will be opened until after Sukkot.
