מגיעה גונדי שחל, אמא לתלמידות בביה"ס ופעילת איכות הסביבה באזור ים המלח

עם שני מתקני חימום סולארי. האחד - לבישול תה, השני - לטיגון לביבות. מתוך

סקרנות ותיאבון בריא מגיעים בני הנוער להשתתף בשמחה ולראות את הפלא

Our highschool is trying to emphasize the importance of

enviromental awareness and values. Gundi Shachal, a mother

of two students in school, and an enviromental activist in the

Dead Sea region, brings to one of the school breaks two solar

stoves - one for cooking tea, and the other for frying pancakes.

Curiosity and healthy appetite bring the students close to the action.

The Black-Tailed bird of the desrt - שחור-זנב

שחור-זנב, ציפור שיר מדברית, בפוזה אופיינית על סלע. מה שהתמונה של מרים בוטא

אינה קולטת, היא תנועת פתיחת הזנב השחור וסגירתו, שמבצעת הציפור כל הזמן. את הציפור

תמצאו בעיקר בואדי, בין עצי השיטה, כשהיא מחפשת חרקים ופירות צמחים

Cercomela melanura - a small and very common bird in Ein-Gedi.

The picture, taken by Miriam Buta, shows a very typical pose on a

rock. What the picture cannot show - is the quick moves of opening

and closing the black tail, which happen very frequently. This black

tail gave the bird its Hebrew name.

Ibex in Nachal David - יעל בנחל דוד

הקיוסק של נחל דוד עבור היעלים הוא עץ השיזף, הזוכה לביקורים של יעלים

This is the real and natural Kiosk of Nachal David. It is visited by

Ibex and Hyrax as well. This is the Ziziphus spina-christi tree.

The right Hyrax seems to be a baby. The left one, much darker -

shows the acrobatic abilities of its flexible body - diving down

to a lower rock, probably running away from the photographer.
