Passiflora shedding leaves - שלכת פסיפלורה בגן

פסיפלורות נשתלו בגינות פרטיות עוד לפני שנים רבות, בדרך כלל

ללא הצלחה רבה עם יבול - כנראה האקלים שלנו יבש מדי; ובכל זאת

התאקלמו הפסיפלורות כצמחי כיסוי לגדרות ולחומות, והן מפתחות עלווה

Passifloras were planted in our private gardens many

years ago. Usually they did not produce much fruit. Still,

they decorate fences and walls with green and healthy

foliage. Itzik Mazor took a picture of his Passiflora during

shedding of its leaves.

The ceramic bids, made by our local artist, Naomi Nadav, are

well known, and many of us decorate our houses with these

lovely creatures. Naomi has put some of them in the garden

surrounding the Botanical Garden office, at the Kibbutz gate.

Wedding at the ancient synagogue - חתונה בבית הכנסת העתיק

מיכל רז, בת עין-גדי, אמנית וחוקרת תרבות התמר, מקימת בית-התמר
שליד בית הכנסת העתיק בעין-גדי, נישאה לשמוליק, בחיר-לבה, על רצפת
בית-הכנסת שליד סוכתה. החתונה היתה עליזה. רבים מחבריה של מיכל
הם מוסיקאים, ולא היה צורך במוסיקה מוקלטת. שירה, ריקודים וצחוקים
!עד אור הבוקר. שיהיה במזל טוב

Michal Raz grew up in Ein-Gedi. Michal has studied thoroughly
the ancient and temporary crafts of the date-palm materials, and
has established the Date-Center, a museum and an activity center
near the old synagogue. Her wedding with Shmulik took place on the
mosaic floor of the synagogue and in the Date-Center nearby. Many

of Michal and Shmulik's friends are musicians, so the entertainment
was original and very happy! Mazal Tov!

GRACE - Pilgrimage for a Future without War - המסע לשלום הגיע לעין-גדי

המסע לשלום - מבצע רגלי של כ-150 אנשים מארצות שונות, החל באמצע אוקטובר

באילת, והגיע בסוף אוקטובר לעין-גדי, בדרכו לבית-לחם ולירושלים. המטרה - קירוב
לבבות ושיגור מסר של שלום בין הישראלים לפלשתינאים

An Adventure in Consciousness
About 150 international peaceworkers including Israelis and

Palestinians, are on a peace pilgrimage through Israel

and Palestine from October 12 to November 9, 2007,

led by Sabine Lichtenfels (Tamera) and Benjamin von Mendelssohn

(Mendelssohn Foundation), in the last days together with

Annette Kaiser (Sufi-Teacher). They are walking by foot,

from Eilat through the Arava desert, to Masada,
by the Dead Sea and from there through Bethlehem

to Jerusalem. On Wednesday October 31st they

reached Ein-Gedi.
