The hiking club of Ein-Gedi high school gained popularity, although

the hikes are not during school time... The hikes are a good

opportunity to have fun, to train the muscles, to breath fresh air,

בן חורש מבשר האביב - !Spring is here

  

בן חורש הוא סחלב מאד מיוחד, ומדי שנה הוא חוזר ומופיע מדי

שנה בקירות הסלע של נחל ערוגות. עבורנו הוא מבשר האביב

Epipactis veratrifolia - a very unique orchid - appears

every year in Spring in the rock walls of Nachal Arugot.

ובכן, זה אני... בדרך כלל אני חוזר מטיולים עם אוסף תמונות, ובכולן 

אינני מופיע, כי אני המצלם. הפעם, בטיול עם תלמידי ביה"ס, לקח אחד

Well, this is me... Usually I come back from my hikes and trips

with pictures of others. This time one of our students took my

picture on a day hike to Nachal Rom, near Ein-Bokek. The flute

is with me on most of my hikes and trips, including abroad.

Rainbow over flooded Arugot - קשת מעל שיטפון בערוגות

חוויות החורף רק הולכות ומצטברות... השבוע - גשמים, מפלי

מים חומים ושטפונות, ולקינוח קשת נהדרת מעל חוף ים המלח

בדיוק במקום בו נחל ערוגות השוטף מרחיב את פטריית הבוץ

בתוך הים. שלא ייגמר לעולם

The winter is very generous this year, even in Ein-Gedi.

More rain than usual, floods. brown muddy waterfalls,

and above all - this magnificent rainbow, just above the 

Arugot delta, where the flood is pushing its muddy waters

into the Dead Sea.
