חבר קבוץ עין-גדי, אשר נרצח בשנת 1960 בעת טיילו באזור זה. גיורא

היה אז בן 22. בשנים האחרונות שותפים לטיול בני המשפחה של גיורא - אחותו

רות, ילדיה ונכדיה. מצטרפים נוספים - חברים מקבוץ עין-גדי וחובבי טיולים

The traditional climbing-hike to the summit of Mt. Yishai,

in the memory of Giora Barzilay, a member of the Kibbutz,

who was murdered in 1960 at the age of 22 while hikng

in this area with a friend. At that time this was the border

with Jordan, and shootings there were quite common between

Israelies and Arabs on these years. During the last years

members of Giora's family, his sister Ruth with children and

grandchildren take part in the hike, together with members of

Kibbutz Ein-Gedi and other desert lovers. In the picture - a

rest and a hikers breakfeast.

Groups which tour our garden are very common. Thousands

of tourists visit the Botanical Garden in a year. The guiding staff

is quite large, and we try to give each group the right guide. Our

hotel's guests have every week a night-tour. Some tours include

January Floods שיטפונות ינואר
