An accident in our garden - תאונה שנסתיימה בנס

אפרון ( מיכלזון ) - מנוף המיועד לקטיף ולגיזום בגובה העצים, ואשר עסק בחודש

האחרון בגיזום עונתי של הדקלים בגן, התהפך ליד המרפאה. רוני, עובד הנוי, שהיה

במרומי המנוף, עוד הספיק ברוב תושייתו לזנק מהמרפסת הגבוהה אל צמרת דקל

הוושינגטוניה ולהיאחז בכפות הדקל הקוצניות. שני עובדי נוי אחרים מיהרו להרכיב סולם

טלסקופי שהגיע כמעט עד לכפות רגליו של רוני, והוא הצליח לגלוש בזהירות אל הסולם

!ולרדת בו אל האדמה הבטוחה. הפעם נמנע אסון כבד

Our garden team was busy last weeks in cutting old branches at

the tops of the high palms, using a crane that brought them to heights

of 10 meters to do the job. In front of our clinic, trying to reach the

top of a Washingtonia palm, Ronny, one of our gardeners, felt that

the crane is turning upside down! Not being able to stabilize the machine,

Ronny decided in a second to jump from the crane to the top branches

of the palm, where he clinged to the thorny branches, waiting for the

rescue. Two other gardeners hurried and brought a telescopic ladder

that was almost enough to reach under Ronny's feet. He then carefully

slided down to the ladder and climbed down to the safe ground. A 10

meters fall would have been a very painfull alternative!

באפריל הוצגה כאן תמונה של צוות הנוי העסוק במלאכת הגיזום החריף של

שדרת עצי הטספסיה. עברו בערך חודשיים - והעצים שהושארו כמעט ללא

ענפים ועלים החלו להצמיח במרץ נוף חדש. עצים טרופיים מתאפיינים, בין

השאר, ביכולת הצמחת עלים וענפים צעירים מהגזעים והגדמים המבוגרים מאד

ואת היכולת הזאת מדגימות הטספיות היטב. הכביש המחבר את בית ההארחה

עם חדר האוכל שלו שוב מוצל, וזה טוב וגם יפה

On April this blog showed a picture of the very aggressive

pruning of the Tespesia trees. In about two months these

trees have grown new conopies, and the road connecting

the guest-house with its dining room is shaded again.

Eraly hours of morning belong to some people who start

their working day very early, to the joggers and walkers,

and to our guests who wake up early to enjoy the better

colors of verything in the garden, before the sun makes

it almost impossible to take a decent picture.

The queen-of-the-night cactus plants still open new giant

flowers almost every night, and the very early morning

gives us the last chance to take their pictures before the

flowers close and end their short life.
