נכחדו מעין-גדי מזמן. כיום צומחים בשמורה כמה עצי זקום, והם משגשגים

ואף מפיצים זרעים, הנובטים בסביבה

Zakum tree (Balanites) in Nachal David. Zakum trees were

in the past a part of the natural plantation of Ein-Gedi, but

became extinct.  A few trees were brought In the 70's to

the nature reserve and the planting was very successful.
