Tristram Grackle - טריסטרמית

הטריסטרמית, אחת מהציפורים היפהפיות המאכלסות בכמויות מרשימות

את מרחבי נווה המדבר של עין-גדי. שמן העממי 'זרזיר ים-המלח' מעיד על

השייכות האזורית שלהן, ולמעשה ניתן למוצאן גם בסיני ובמדבריות אחרים

באזורנו. בעין-גדי הן מאד ידידותיות, ואינן חוששות לאכול מכף ידך. ציוצי

The Tristram Grackle is named after Henry Baker Tristram,

a British scientist who travelled and wrote a lot about the nature

of the Dead Sea region. It is a very friendly bird, that will eat from

your hand, if you are patient enough. You can identify it easily by

the sweet sounds it makes, and by the golden patch at the tip of its

ומאובק, ושעה קלה לפני שנעלמה השמש מאחורי ההר - אפשר היה להביט

Sunsets in the Dead Sea area are not so impressive, since

the sun disappears behind the mountains long before it gets

dark, but there are those special days when the sunset paints

the Moav mountains in pink-red color, or those dusty-hazy

days, when just before the sun disappears, you can watch it

behind the curtain of dust and enjoy the effect. This picture
