Our green Ein-Gedi is just a tiny oasis in the big desert

around it. This perspective can be learned from the other

side, from the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea.

Daniyar and his Helicopter - דניאר והמסוק הפרטי

דניאר סדיקוב, בן 18, הגיע לארץ רק לפני כשנתיים, והוא מתגורר עם הוריו

בקיבוץ ולומד בביה"ס. התחביב שלו, שהוא מקווה לשדרג עם השנים למקצוע, הוא

טיסנאות, וכעת הוא מטיס מסוק מונחה-רדיו. שדה ההמראות והנחיתות שלו הוא אחד

Daniyar Sadikov, 18 years old, came to Israel about 2 years ago

and lives with his parents in the Kibbutz. Daniyar is about finishing

his studies in the local highschool, and hopes to serve on one

of the army airforce units. Until then - he enjoys flying small aircrafts

guided by radio.

Ancient anchors - עוגני סירה עתיקים

ברחבת אולם המופעים של הקיבוץ - פינת תצוגה עם עוגני-סירה עתיקים. ארבעת

עוגני האבן - גילם כאלפיים שנה, והחור שבכל עוגן שימש לקשירתו לחבל. עוגני

הברזל חדשים יותר. העוגנים נמצאו על שפת ים-המלח, ונסיגת הים נותנת

סיכוי למציאת עוגנים נוספים. הם מעידים על תנועת סירות פעילה במימי ים-המלח

Outside the concert-hall in the Kibbutz, facing south - a small

collection of boat-anchors that were found on the Dead-Sea

shores. The stone anchors are really ancient, about 2000 years,

while the iron anchors are much younger. They give testimony

about active sailing in the Dead-Sea in old times. Found and

arranged for display by Dr. Gideon Hadas.

Independance Day - יום העצמאות בגן

מדי שנה מתקשט הגן בדגלי ישראל לקראת יום העצמאות. השנה, לאחר חורף

יבש יחסית, אבל קר, פורצים שיחי האדניום בורוד-אדום עז מתמיד, וגם הצאלונים

מקדימים בפריחה, כך שהראשון במאי גם הוא מצוין באדום טבעי

Every year, a few days before Independance Day, Israel flags

are decorating the garden. This year it coincides with May 1st,

and the Adeium bushes and the Delonix trees contribute their

red blooming - just in time for the World Workers Day.
